Great Fun and A Great Big Check

A great time was had by all in attendance at our fundraising event to benefit Guardian Ad Litem and Voices for Children. By the end of the night, we were able to raise $2400 for these worthy causes - money that will be used to make a positive impact in the lives of children who desperately need it. A special thanks to our new friends Susan Neville and Betsy Smith for their sacrifice and tireless work in helping these children. It's people like these two that truly make a difference in our world.

We will be hosting a private benefit dinner for Voices for Children and Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. To our valued customers - the restaurant will be closed for dinner service this evening but we would love to have you in attendance for this great cause. The cost is $20 per person (entrée, a side, dessert, 2 drink tickets – beer or wine, and unlimited soft drinks) and $10 per child - 10 and under (entrée, dessert and unlimited soft drinks.) As always, you will enjoy tantalizing “Greek Inspired Flavors,” in a fun and lively setting, while at the same time supporting a worthy cause. 100% of all proceeds will be donated to the aforementioned organizations. Voices for Children is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide the volunteer guardians the financial means necessary for Guardian ad Litem to continue this vital service to children. Currently, the program can serve only about 67% of these children. Our goal is to provide 100% representation for the abused, neglected and abandoned children of Hillsborough County.

Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to provide a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteer advocate for every abused, abandoned, and neglected child by supporting the 6^th Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program. The Guardian ad Litem Program is a partnership of community advocates and professional staff providing a powerful voice on behalf of Florida’s abused and neglected children. Currently there are over 31,000 children in foster care; nearly 10% in Pinellas & Pasco Counties. Approximately 2/3 of those children are in need of a GAL voice to speak for them.

In May, 2011, Geoff Brown and Josh Bowles, a couple of restaurateurs and franchise development veterans, uncovered a great new idea. They married a modern version of Greek-style cuisine with the fast-growing type of eatery that gives customers the ability to customize their meals as they see fit. The result – Mo’ Ziki, a fast-casual restaurant offering “Greek Inspired Flavors” in a fun and engaging setting.

Mo’ Ziki’s menu features healthy options sourcing the freshest and highest-quality ingredients, at an affordable price. Guests can customize their dishes because the simple menu of pitas, wraps, salads and bowls can be created with any combination of meats, veggies, cheeses and homemade signature tzatziki sauces.

Mo’ Ziki takes customer service and food quite seriously, but positions itself with a generous serving of humor. Customers can expect great service in an unpretentious way and personable staff committed to providing the best experience possible.

The idea has been launched in the form of a first location in Largo’s Promenade Bardmoor Center at 10801 Starkey Road (located at the intersection of Bryan Dairy and Starkey Roads). The restaurant is open seven days a week, serving lunch and dinner from 11am to 9pm. Mo’Ziki also offers take-away service for guests on the go and catering options if you have Mo’ friends. It's finally open! Let May 26th, 2011 mark the day an awesome, fresh alternative to all the fast-food joints was opened. Mo' Ziki rocks with fresh ingredients packed in their pitas, wraps, salads and bowls. And check out the Greekadilla, a grilled flat wrap stuffed with steak, chicken, or gyro meat surrounded by melted cheese and your choice of veggies. So good. Congrats to the owners and staff for a successful, memorable opening. Now watch the video!

Have you seen our freakin’ signs? Whadda’ they mean? They mean a restaurant is coming soon to 10801 Starkey Road in Largo.

We’re actually talking about something bigger and bolder than a corner store in search of frugal Greek food freaks. (Try saying that 10 times fast!)

We’re building a national brand focused on providing fast, fresh, affordable food, where Greek inspired flavors are the star of the show. You probably see yourself as one our first customers now. Cool. We’re getting hungry too.

We’ve selected a space and have begun building out the place. You’ll find us next to Starbucks in the Bardmoor Shopping Plaza at the corner of Starkey and Bryan Dairy Rd. Come April, Mo’ Ziki will introduce Largo to a fresh take on fast-casual dining.

The restaurant’s name and concept is derived from tzatziki sauce. The concept is also based on personal choice. We’ll feature pitas, wraps and salads piled high with an oh-so-fresh assortment of the Greek-style ingredients you like. Traditional tzatziki is just one of tasty items you can flavor your plate with. You’ll get your meal fast, but it’ll be unlike any fast food you’ve tried.

We’re doing something different here. And we’re freakin’ excited.
